I really enjoyed this story. Set in England the heroine returns to her small home town to attend the funeral of her deceased fiancées' grandmother. It has been 4 years since her fiancée was killed in a car wreck. she feels a lot of guilt since they argued before he took off speeding up the highway. She has to face his family that never approved of her and his brother that she thinks she had feelings for.

There are a lot of secrets in the story, lots of misunderstandings and a lot of facing what in life she wants. The hero in the story is a local doctor. he has secretly loved her all this time. Since she was his brother's fiancée he kept his distance except for one brief moment. He still loves her but she is so caught up in grief and he misunderstands her feelings so he is still left hanging.

This is their story and how they come together. It was really good and I definitely recommend it.

SPOILER--I just had one thing that I didn't quite understand. At one time the heroine says that if the hero loved her or just asked her to stay she would. Then he does and she acts like he is her 3rd choice for prom. I didn't understand why she acted the way she did. It was still a good story and I guess I will just have to give her the moment of ..."well duh".. Good read.

Really enjoyed this book. Even though I could easily predict the ending, I still really loved it. Great romance. Would highly recommend.
It is a great romance.I really enjoyed it was full of all these emotions, love,loss,forgiveness.I enjoyed the characters and the way the story was portrayed.
A lovely love story giving two people hope. I found the twists in the story very intriguing. Wou;ld recommend as a quick sweet read.
This is a real 'feel good' romance. Sweet & yet sensual enough to be romantic. Secrets are revealed, assumptions are made and Anna & Josh have to cope with it all. Sometimes you just want a 'happily ever after' kind of book and this is it. I really enjoyed reading this one.
Trying to close a page and find peace, Anna returns to Halifax, the city where she grew up, fell in love, and lost her fiancé. But peace is the last thing she finds. A riot of emotions awaits her as she unravels the past guilt, anger, resentment, hope and trust. S. R. Hughes expertly shows us the protagonists' feelings and set a series of good secondary characters. The hero is a real hero every woman would love.
This book is just something fun and entertaining to read quickly. I enjoyed the plot and characters and thought the story was entertaining and well developed. This story made my smile and laugh and also feel sad for both the main characters throughout reading. I liked how well the emotions of characters were conveyed in short periods of time. The book was not overly wordy and kept moving at a fast enough pace. I enjoyed it and am glad that I read it.
This is an old fashioned love story with a bit of melodrama. The dramatic bits are well woven in. The characters are likable, if flawed, and all ends happily ever after. The work is a little short, but the length suits the subject this is boy meets girl, fails to get girl, befriends girl and eventually gets girl in the end. Sex scenes are soft peddled, which I find refreshing. It may be my imagination, but I seem to note writers are skimming the steamy stuff. There are only so many ways you can describe turgid staffs and luscious orbs, after all.
